Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing corporate project management team!
Role Summary:
This position provides an opportunity to take part in advancing engineering concepts selected for major projects and turning them into a reality. As part of our team, you will provide safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and cost effective project engineering for pipeline and terminal construction projects through planning, developing, estimating, execution, commissioning, and closeout phases. The position is a support role to the overall project manager and responsibilities will be concentrated on the technical aspects of the project.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
- Support Project Managers in preparing feasibility studies and in the engineering efforts of various projects.
- Complete design reviews and technical interactions with third party engineering companies as part of the project team (this will include interaction with Buckeye’s Central Engineering Department, Buckeye Subject Matter Experts, and other teams within Buckeye).
- Work with both Commercial and Operational stakeholders to evaluate and obtain approval of project scopes, budgets, and/or schedules.
- Support development of project scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, work plans, and resource requirements (i.e., personnel, contractors, etc.) as part of the initiation and planning phases (i.e., prior to AFE approval) of the project life cycle.
- Plan and organize critical activities including downtime, startup and commissioning with various stakeholders.
- Follows through to ensure that Operations achieves a successful project startup, and that any project-related action items are completed
- Ensure projects adhere to pertinent Buckeye engineering standards and industry standards.
- Assist with development and application of new project management, project engineering and technical procedures and templates.
- Assist with closing projects per guidelines, and ensures proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and Buckeye requirements.
- Complete lessons learned reviews for completed projects to improve work practices.
- Provide required input to all other terminal and pipeline-related specifications and technical documentation.
- And other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering disciple from an ABET accredited school
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office
- Travel Requirements: Travel varies from 25% to 50%
Certificates & Licenses:
- EIT registration desirable

Physical & Safety Requirements:
- Normal office environment
- Travel involved to field facilities for investigative purposes, and for equipment and system commissioning. Field travel involves ambulatory activity and visual information gathering.
