Visa is looking for an accomplished Director, Risk AI/ML Products with a passion for innovating and shaping the next generation of payment fraud risk model products.

This role will focus on bringing to market a new, exciting risk model product with global reach, compelling client experience, novel features, and strategic importance to Visa.

As an experienced product leader, the person will work closely with Technology, Data Science, Cross-functional Products and Regional teams to prioritize, solution, develop and implement key product features and ultimately bring to market successful products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Identify trends, competitive landscape, market and client needs to shape product roadmap and align strategic goals.
  • Build and own product roadmap, product positioning, market differentiation, value proposition and benefits in ways that resonate with key audiences, use-cases and markets
  • Establish product requirements: define comprehensive and precise products requirements for key features which meet client and markets needs and work in conjunction with other Visa products and solutions
  • Conduct grooming sessions: Drive collaboration and in-depth understand on product requirements with cross-functional product, data science and technology teams
  • Define acceptance criteria for requirements, Participating and providing business input to the AI design and technology discussions.
  • Define and monitor key product success metrics and operational targets
  • Define non-technical elements critical to product success, such as model risk management, onboarding experience, commercial enablement assets, pricing, branding, and GTM plans
  • Play an instrumental role in the Payment Fraud Risk Model Products team by providing thought leadership in overall strategy design, commercialization, and execution of Risk Model products.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD
  • 8+ years of experience in product management with a focus on AI/ML products in payment technology or risk and fraud management.
  • Prior experience in financial services or payments industry.
  • Experience and knowledge of Agile (Scrum) project methodology and practices. Proven record of accomplishment in fast-paced, agile environments with demanding timelines.
  • Extensive experience in designing and taking products to market that use complex modelling techniques (inc. AI/ML).
  • Experience in management and requirement provision for data science teams and technology teams focused on AI/ML.
  • Ability to lead executive messaging.

The successful execution of this role will be achieved through a combination of leadership, technology/product/AI-ML knowledge, innovation, passion for customers, and applied strategy. As well as a positive contribution to Visa’s rapidly expanding payments products and services offerings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • MBA appreciated but not required.
  • Flexible, positive and results-oriented attitude works well with changing timelines and priorities and can proactively manage up. Works with a sense of urgency and makes efforts to motivate others towards common goals.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to develop clear, insightful PowerPoint presentations, internal briefs and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and synthesize complex information, make sound tactical decisions, and communicate such information in a clear, simple way to a variety of audiences, ranging from senior executives to working-level technical specialists.
  • Ability to formulate and communicate strategies rooted in deep knowledge of product, consumer, and market factors, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
  • Self-starter who identifies areas of opportunity and drives forward efficiencies, processes, global strategies and goals forward with cross-functional stakeholders and clients.
  • Technical aptitude: Demonstrated ability to work with complex products or capabilities, the ideal candidate will have an existing basic understanding of mobile and digital payment technologies.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is to 139,200 USD to 213,800 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
