Job Description

Are you a team player who cares about customer service? Field Accountants with Miller's Health Systems are assigned to skilled nursing or assisted living facilities to work with facility and other corporate staff to review accounting/bookkeeping activities. They use knowledge of accounting practices and attention for details to help improve operations. Some field accountant duties include:

  • Audit accounting/documentation for assigned facilities
  • Report audit findings to appropriate management and Internal Auditing Manager
  • Perform special audits as identified in order to trouble-shoot, analyze or make recommendations
  • Assist in screening new office manager candidates as needed
  • Assist in training office managers including participating in planning and presenting at educational workshops
  • Daily travel to assigned facility locations in northeast Indiana

Qualifications

  • Degree in accounting or related experience is required
  • At least 2 years of accounting or auditing experience, preferably in a long term care setting
  • Experience in working with Medicare/Medicaid preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in training and leading
