Your Career
In this role within the Global Cross-Portfolio marketing team, you'll be responsible for leading the global cross portfolio content strategy & development of the company narrative and messaging across Palo Alto Networks internal and external digital pages, major events and cross-portfolio campaigns - directly impacting our business and brand to shift the market perception of the Palo Alto Networks brand within the C-level executive community from a “firewall vendor” to a “strategic cybersecurity partner.”
You'll be responsible for planning, execution, and measurement of entire programs of cross-portfolio content, working closely with our marketing leaders to ensure the alignment and impact of all you create. Often, you’ll be working in a highly technical environment, but with a need to translate that technical material into easily consumed, significant content. Above all, the ideal candidate is someone who possesses a broad skill set related to strategic content development—from top-line planning to managing detailed execution to developing the corporate narrative frameworks, and supporting storytelling and messaging.
Your Impact
You will work collaboratively with campaigns, communications, product marketing, events and security research teams to create content that is reflective of our needs, our client’s needs, industry changes and the unique security outcomes that Palo Alto Networks has to offer.
Collaborating across all of marketing, especially with communications, analyst relations and product marketing teams, to own and maintain Palo Alto Networks brand positioning and messaging, company narrative and boiler-plate messaging; ensure brand messaging and company narrative are appropriately and impactfully infused across all relevant programs, web pages, campaigns and sales enablement efforts
Working closely with the events and comms team, build and maintain global event messaging and messaging strategy, create consistency and impactful messages across proprietary and third-party events
Coordinate the development of key brand and cross-portfolio content assets—including high-quality articles, white papers, blogs, press releases, email marketing messages, case studies, presentation content, survey reports and web copy—partnering with subject matter experts, cross-functional teams such as communication, events and campaigns, contract writers and agencies as required; oversee content status, plans and editorial calendar effectively for all brand and cross-portfolio content assets
Lead global content thought leadership strategy, programs, editorial and messaging, partnering heavily with subject matter experts across network, cloud, endpoint and security operations and executive leaders across regional teams, own Palo Alto Networks thought leadership webpage end-to-end and its editorial calendar, ensure the page is always relevant, up to date and performing, collaborate closely with communications team to ensure content pieces and topics are aligned
Understand and grow our earned, paid, shared, and owned cybersecurity content strategy
Efficiently lead internal and external agencies, vendors, creative teams, and copywriters
Establish and continually monitor goals and clearly defined metrics of success to measure the quality of content, audience growth, engagement, and content reach Serve as an exemplary writer, consistent with our company’s tone and mission - write clean, concise, well-polished copy
Continuously measure and improve content performance, create reports leveraging Google Analytics, HubSpot and social media analytics tools
Partner with content leads, graphic designers and team members across communications, product marketing, campaigns and events to create and align all content & ensure consistent message
Push the business to adopt better content creation practices through frequent testing of new content formats and distribution channels

We’re seeking to build our team with someone who is:
A passionate storyteller and has experience working collaboratively with a broad variety of stakeholders to build compelling content in multiple formats (written, video, and blogs/articles to name a few) that resonates with our audiences
A strong editor – flexibility to write a newsworthy blog post, and copy edit content from contributors without content marketing backgrounds
An adept self-starter and project manager who can manage a content calendar, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and has the ability to “connect the dots”.
An analytics-driven content strategist who understands how to select, optimize, and prioritize content based on data
A team player who thrives working collaboratively in a dynamic, fast paced environment
10+ years content marketing experience or direct copywriting experience and results in a technical B2B industry - cybersecurity or enterprise tech experience preferred
Previous experience in managing company-wide messaging and narrative work to support and inform major efforts such as company home page, global events and brand-level campaigns
Strong leadership, coaching and team management abilities
Ability to develop, organize, and maintain process documentation
Experience/consistent performance in deadline-oriented environment due to tight time restraints and volume of work
Excellent project management capabilities
Clear, effective communicator—verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to work productively with counterparts in a cross-functional capacity
Must be able to respond quickly in an environment of changing priorities
Results-oriented - proven ability to prioritize, drive and achieve results through self and others under time pressure
Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it
Ability to analyze and present content and social performance
Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results in the form of traffic, leads and sales
Strong knowledge of content marketing strategy and channels
Bachelor’s or Master’s in marketing, communications, journalism or related discipline or equivalent military experience required

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $147,400 - $238,600/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
