Job Description

Visa Consumer Payments and Platforms focuses on building and deploying innovative technologies to enable and secure Visa transactions around the globe. Our mission is to launch new, market-leading offerings that create tremendous value for Financial Institutions and Big-Tech Payments Providers and delight new end consumer users as well as meet clear areas of demand for acceptance and related services. To effect this transformation across the globe, we are looking for a leader who is both passionate about innovating and deeply familiar with chip, cloud and settlement technologies in order to deliver a truly differentiated user experiences for specific underserved segments. Successful execution of this role will be achieved through a combination of leadership, technical payments and delivery knowledge, communication and applied strategy in applying Visa’s rapidly expanding digital offerings.

In addition, this role will contribute to the overall strategic vision, planning and operation of Visa’s Consumer Platform business and requires strong cross functional management and COO-type skills. This is a matrix, cross functional role so organizational savvy and interpersonal skills are critical. This role will interface across all regions and multiple markets and engage with specialized product groups, financial institution sales, merchant sales, client consulting, operations, technology, risk, analytics, marketing and corporate communications, legal, corporate strategy, interchange/pricing, finance to coordinate the build, launch and support of new products. Visa is looking for individual that pays attention to detail, with a proven track record of success in fast-paced payments technology environments with demanding timelines, an ability to correlate business requirements to technology engineers, but who can also think big and contribute to strategic planning, drive change management and lead executive messaging.

The successful candidate will take ownership of most non-financial planning, program management, reporting and communications consistent with our product strategy, drive to launch at scale and  increase usage / overall value and ultimately build Visa future capability. This position may require occasional travel to client or regional teams around the globe.

Responsibilities:

Execute on a multi-year strategy for the new regional Issuing business, which considers nuances relevant to the specific region (e.g., fintech ecosystem, local banking regulation, mix of digital payments, opportunities for inorganic growth).

  • Closely partner with Global Product leaders to deliver on-time, on-budget new Issuing Products in the region.
  • Support and deliver Global product roadmap that extend Visa’s relevance beyond our core network assets.  This includes:
  • Solutions to address challenges emerging,
  • Align regional priorities with Objectives and Key Results for Visa’s Global Solutions business,
  • Identify and inform the Global and regional cross functional leaders of local market changes, client feedback, and product requirements,
  • Deliver best in class Products and services that exceed client expectations,

Partner with regional Commercialization leaders to build, execute, and monitor go-to-market motions so Solutions are easy to sell and easy to launch.  This includes:

  • Develop a Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy, which may include new products, bundles, or campaigns, based on local market needs,
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including Sales and CS to execute the GTM strategy,
  • Inform pricing guidelines with market intelligence, and
  • Partner with GTM, Commercialization, and Strategy Lead to shape regionally-relevant Sales narratives across client segments, which are tightly aligned with Product roadmaps.

Architect client-centric joint solutions including build, implementation, and post-launch optimization:

  • Link Issuing Solutions with other Visa Product Domains and Client Segments (Acceptance, Risk, Data, AI) to provide greatest value to the client,
  • Deliver technical and product integration demos and requirements to technology partners,
  • Work with clients through implementation and post-launch optimization.
  • Work diligently in product development tooling to manage on time sprints and budget

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
  • Experience with leading Initiatives
  • Subject matter expertise in debit, credit, open banking and digital products, cloud technologies including good knowledge of RTP, ACH processing, merchant terminals, card schemes and Instant Payments.
  • Experience of working in a global matrix organization with the ability to navigate complex structures and empower decision-making locally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Deep expertise in the design and implementation of payments products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large, cross-functional (e.g. product, sales, strategy, marketing) A deep understanding of one or more dimensions of the payment industry
  • Proven track record of consumer payment product commercialization and delivery
  • Matrixed, ambiguous and cross-regional environments
  • Demonstrated ability to build sustainable, collaborative relationships with regulators, industry groups and governments
  • Ability to work independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to stakeholders and to juggle multiple initiatives at once
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor addressing a wide variety of opportunities and threats
  • Ability to quickly assess an opportunity's potential, leveraging fact-based analyses and industry experience
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively across regional and functional lines
  • Good business insight and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Leadership and aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results.
  • Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations and solutions.  

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 192,300.00 to 278,850.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
