Schedule:  Full-time

Wage:  Starting at $21.50 per hour and increases to $22.00 per hour after 90 days

Job Description

Dungarvin has a unique opportunity available for a FULL-TIME FLOAT Caregiver/Direct Support Professional (DSP).

**Caregiving/DSP experience, Driver’s License, and reliable transportation is required; staff must be able to learn different caregiving supports from medical to behavioral.**

We currently have two different FLOAT schedules available:

  1. Level 1 Day/Swing Float:  will work four days throughout the weekdays and every other weekend, between the hours of  6am – 10pm for scheduling purposes.
  2. Level 2 Swing/NOC Float:  will work four days throughout the weekdays and every other weekend,  between the hours of 3pm – 9am for scheduling purposes. 

FLOAT caregivers/DSP’s  provide staffing  coverage, fill-in support, covers staff paid time off, and fills open and/or temporary positions to support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). 

The FLOAT Caregiver/DSP must be dependable, works well independently, and have exceptional communication and decision-making skills.  They are adaptable, can pivot, and be able to work at multiple community-based residential homes. 

This position requires flexibility and the capacity to work a varied schedule – including weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays - during the assigned scheduled hours, as necessary, to best fit the immediate need of the programs. This is not a part-time or on-call position.

  • Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
  • Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
  • Transport clients to appointments or other activities outside the home.
  • Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
  • Document progress, milestones, and action steps.

Qualifications

What Makes You A Great Fit:

  • Must be available to work a varied schedule – including weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Must have the flexibility to change schedules, as necessary, to fill immediate needs of the programs.
  • Caregiving experience required.
  • Must be able, and willing to learn, different supports from medical to behavioral.

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
  • Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record and proof of insurance with a reliable vehicle and the ability to drive to various locations around the Portland, Oregon area is required* 

*This position requires that the employee have their own vehicle that they can transport persons served in, as well as the ability to provide proof of liability insurance coverage. 

Successful candidates will be required to meet all Oregon State Department of Human Services requirements.
