Job Description

NBC News is seeking a Producer to assist in all aspects of Licensing and Syndication.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure that licensed and syndicated programs are editorially up to date.
  • Re-format material to match client timing requirements.
  • Fact-check original scripts, researching for legal and other potential story updates. Revise copy as necessary.
  • Write on camera host copy.
  • Vet rights and clearances information and work with team to identify replacement materials.
  • Facilitate shoots.
  • Supervise edits.
  • Oversee a production team of associate producers, production assistants and editors.
  • Coordinate with technical, operations staff.
  • Manage and work within the parameters of a pre-determined budget.
  • Collaborate with original story producers and correspondents. Contribute to original longform production work as needed.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of production experience in digital and/or TV news (cable or broadcast).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, History, or a related field of study.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong journalistic writing skills, organization, research skills and editorial judgment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and I-news.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
  • Knowledge of NBC News Policies, Guidelines and Practices.

Additional Requirements:

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

What we’ll offer: Production Employee (PEP) Regular who works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period:  

  • Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months  
  • Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment  
  • Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment

Salary range: $90,000 - $170,000
