Compensation Range: $160-220k per year

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience

Job Description

Reporting to the CFO, the Vice President, Controller (“Controller”) will be a key financial leader and close partner to the CFO and VP Finance.   Sets the strategic direction for the development and deployment of accounting and reporting processes including corporate consolidations, treasury management, accounts payable, payroll, and the development and implementation of related systems, controls, procedures and policies. Acts as an advisor to the CFO and other senior leaders on financial accounting and reporting. Manages accounting department personnel, activities and duties and ensures/oversees the accuracy, integrity, availability, and accessibility of company financial records. Also responsible for the review of general ledger entries, reconciliations and records and ensure internal financial controls are appropriate and in place.  Provides leadership, trains and mentors personnel and provides assistance with preparing, reviewing and distributing financial statements.

 

Essential Job Functions: 

This role requires a self-motivated, detail oriented, positive, collaborative, and organized individual with the ability to maintain flexibility and take ownership of projects and processes.  Must be a problem solver and address issues in a timely manner. Additionally:

  • Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination and periodic review of direct staff.
  • Leads in the development, documentation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures, including but not limited to defining and enforcing key controls over financial and company operations, including appropriate segregation of duties.
  • Oversee the enforcement of monthly/quarterly close accountabilities, procedures and compliance requirements, and maintain checklists to ensure completeness.
  • Oversee the recurring financial reporting, commentary and analysis including preparing necessary narrative summaries and related presentations for company and department leadership.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to re-engineer and improve accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Manage in a "no surprises" manner; proactively communicating financial issues and opportunities.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate new acquisitions, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new business, new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee all duties related to audit, tax, incorporation of mergers and acquisitions
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements
  • Ensure all monthly, quarterly, year-end closings are done in an accurate and timely manner
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop and implement more efficient procedures and use of software resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy and enhanced workflow of the department
  • Supports ongoing expansion of the business, including matters associated with geographic expansion, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Accounting related field of study
  • Minimum 10 years experience working in the accounting field.  Experience can be a combination of public accounting and private industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • CPA preferred
  • Behavioral Healthcare experience preferred
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
