If so, Dungarvin has a unique opportunity available in our Supported Living program and we are looking for an exceptional candidate who has a passion for person-centered advocacy and choice.
The Full-Time Float Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver provides in-home care within the Eugene, Oregon area and will provide full-time staffing support for open and/or temporary positions to support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).
This position requires a dependable candidate who is flexible in their schedule, works well independently, and has exceptional communication and decision-making skills. Float DSP's are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes.
What You’ll Do
- Provide client care in a float capacity for schedules, emergencies, or fill-in assignments at designated residential homes
- Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Provide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Implementing positive behavior supports
- Prepare meals and snacks.
- Light household duties
- Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
- Community activities and outings
- Assist with transportation needs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule (including weekends)
- Previous DSP/Caregiving experience required
- Must have valid driver's license & reliable transportation
- Must be able and willing to learn different supports, from medical to behavioral
- Have a passion to help others
- Works well independently
- Dependable and adaptable
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be able to provide references
- 18 years of age or older (required)
- Able to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training
