Job Description

Summary
The Vice President of Food & Beverage will be responsible for providing both support and direction to our culinary leaders and general managers throughout the company.  As a true servant leader, you will collaborate and teach others best practices in food and beverage industry to drive innovation and creativity in the hotels, restaurants, clubs, and outlets for Aspen Hospitality.  You will cultivate an environment where all F&B teams feel equally supported and engaged. 

This role will help establish concepts, systems, standards and culture. This leader must build on the existing level of excellence that Aspen One has been known for in the food and beverage space. This will be done through collaboration and the ability to establish a culture of trust and teamwork.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $195,000-$225,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions
•    Establish and implement Aspen Hospitality Food & Beverage, standards, menu guides, training programs, and pre-opening critical path and road map to success with appropriate goals and touchpoints within
•    Knowledgeable and current with ongoing performance and trends in all operations (outlets and banquets/catering), and through analytical skills, devise improvements in strategies, quality, revenue generation, cost management, staffing, equipment and operational efficiencies.
•    Model and champion the unique Culture of Aspen through your actions and support it throughout the company
•    Build operating teams throughout the portfolio that unify and work collaboratively together to implement and execute initiatives
•    Analyze F&B competitive positioning and market trends in all markets 
•    Analyze market dynamics and hotel positioning to develop and implement new restaurant concepts
•    Provide direction on existing restaurant and bar performance improvement and sustained growth
•    Direct the implementation of changes and improvements working directly with F&B property staff
•    Supervise due diligence, transition and predevelopment activities for F&B at all new properties
•    In collaboration with HR, create and supervise companywide training and career growth programs and direct best practices for recruiting and staff assessment
•    In collaboration with the SVP of Operations, create and implement a companywide service standard platform to define and monitor performance
•    In collaboration with the SVP of Finance, create and implement companywide F&B operations and financial performance reporting
•    Collaborate with procurement teams on national contracts with suppliers
•    Perform due diligence on capital improvements for short term improvements and long-term success
•    Trouble-shoot and implement solutions for identified property problems and issues 
•    Participate in the creation, branding, thematic design and development of all new F&B outlets
•    Collaborate with HR and talent teams in attracting top talent in the field of Beverage and Food for our properties
•    Collaborate with Sr. Director of IT to continuously explore technology applications in F&B operations to improve operations and guest/associate experiences
•    Participate in the planning and designing of kitchen facilities and restaurant and related facilities 

Qualifications

•    A passion for mentorship is a key factor for this role
•    Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Management, or a relevant field of study or equivalent experience
•    7-10 years of corporate, regional and/or executive level F&B leadership responsibility
•    Proven track record as an innovative and profits centered manager
•    Senior level F&B experience operating in the luxury lifestyle segment
•    Prior experience in due diligence, transitions of assets and operations between ownership groups, pre-development consultation and opening experience of new F&B channels is required
•    A demonstrated ability to assess people, operations, equipment, revenue opportunities and work with the on-site teams to implement change and results
•    A demonstrated track record of growing F&B professionals within a company through a combination of training, aligned reporting, technical skill, and leadership
•    Experience with development and implementation of a service standard platform which can be customized and implemented throughout various business units both the 4 diamond and 5 diamond luxury quality level
•    Experience in creating a platform of F&B performance reporting which can be used to positive leverage results
•    Experience in working on innovative, creative and effective menus
•    Experience in negotiating corporate contracts with food and beverage suppliers

Additional Information

Supervision Given and Received  
Given: Exercises general supervision and collaboration with General Managers, Director of Food & Beverage, and Chefs across the portfolio. A variety of routine tasks sets general expectations of results expected within the company’s policies and procedures.
Received: Works under supervision of the SVP of Operations and receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing the methods to attain them.

Work Environment and Physical Demands  
•    Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements   
•    Ability to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
•    Job may be performed indoors and outdoors with visits to property sites
•    Frequent travel to properties is required
