Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Specialist, Onboarding and Talent Management role supports Stream’s business operations by taking ownership of parts of the employee life cycle. This role has an ownership stake within preboarding, onboarding, and continuing development of the employee workforce. Due to the preboarding and onboarding element of this position, a strong attention to detail and professional communication skills are needed to ensure a smooth candidate/employee experience.
After a new hire’s first day, you will have a stake in supporting continuing integration and involvement within the company. Systems background is not required, but a willingness to ask questions and learn is needed as we continue to develop our processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage the preboarding process for all new hires, including background checks, drug screens, credit checks, and I-9 verifications.
- Handle executive and highly confidential onboardings in a professional and thorough manner, with involvement from IT, Accounting, and Legal.
- Work with department leadership to ensure compliance needs are met during the early employee life cycle stage.
- Present company background and HR information to new hires and serve as a point of contact as they integrate into the company.
- Maintain interest in process improvement, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions as applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the preboarding process for all new hires through UKG’s Onboarding Module
- Process background checks and drug screens and handle invoicing.
- Track timely completion of new-hire correspondence and provide updates
- Serve as a consultant for new hires assisting with HR questions and needs.
- Create and manage documentation and materials for onboarding.
- Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
- Manage the onboarding of the Summer Interns, while working closely with Recruiting.
- Oversee the planning of Culture Index Workshops
- Work as a project manager across our HR, IT, Marketing, and Operations departments to oversee the Blue Glove Onboarding Program.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- At least 2+ years of related experience in General HR, Talent Management, or Recruiting
- Intermediate/advanced competence in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Strong organizational skills to handle confidential and routine hires (5-10 per week)
- Self-starter and cross-departmental collaborator to identify and execute on identified areas for improvement.
