Job Description

We are looking for an experienced leader for our newly created Director of Talent Development, Employee Engagement, & Culture role, which will provide our people and managers with the tools they need to be successful in our people-oriented and performance-driven culture.  A hands-on thought leader, this leader will help to develop and implement talent management initiatives and ensure that our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is embedded in our practices, policies, and programs.   

The ideal candidate will have strong influence, coaching, listening, consulting, and communication skills.  You must thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, enjoy handling multiple projects simultaneously, and be comfortable working through others to achieve common goals.  You must be comfortable working across all levels of the organization – from executive team members to our front-line employees.

Culture and Engagement

  • Embed our company values of honest, smart, nice, and passionate into the day-to-day experiences of our employees
  • Manage our employee listening strategy and provide pragmatic solutions to help us improve employee engagement
  • Regularly monitor key measures, such as engagement and retention, to identify areas for improvement
  • Lead initiatives to obtain external employer recognition for our company, including local Best Places to Work or similar awards

Talent Effectiveness

  • Deliver performance management solutions that enable better conversations between managers and employees and that are focused on helping employees excel within our organization
  • Develop and implement leadership development initiatives that strengthen the ability of leaders at all levels, with a particular focus on front-line and mid-level leadership development
  • Architect and execute talent review and development processes that ensure a pipeline of talent is prepared to fill our future leadership needs; partner with leaders to develop and implement individual development plans for high-potential leaders
  • Design and deploy a career development framework that helps our employees grow with us
  • Deliver learning solutions that meet the needs of the business
  • Design and deliver a compelling onboarding experience for our employees
  • Own the talent, performance, and learning modules of our HR technology

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  • Ensure that DEI strategies are integrated across our core people processes and programs
  • Partner with HR and leaders to raise awareness, capability, and accountability around DEI
  • Steer our employee-led initiatives to create an inclusive environment
  • Partner with communications to develop and implement our internal and external DEI communications strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of directly-related experience
  • Proven experience in defining the roadmap for a team or function
  • Demonstrated track record of driving for results and successfully leading complex projects
  • Proven experience in effectively managing individual or interpersonal conflicts and facilitating dialogue on difficult and controversial topics
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change
