Company Description

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together.

So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality through Afterpay, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.

Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.

Job Description

Better supporting franchise and multi-entity businesses is a key part of Square’s plans to move upmarket and win vs. competitors. To solve this need, Square has acquired GoParrot in May 2022, an all-in-one solution that allows franchisors to manage their franchisees with centralized reporting, loyalty and gift card orchestration, and menu management.  The Organization Management team is specifically responsible for the franchisor/franchisee onboarding experience, centralized reporting, Franchise Suite (FS) Dashboard UX/UI, and the FS Dashboard login experience.  It’s an exciting time to join this team/org as we are working to integrate the GoParrot solution more seamlessly into the Square ecosystem and expand our customer base beyond the food and drink industries!

  • Stay up-to-date with FE technologies and best practices and lead FS-wide frontend syncs

  • Advocate for process changes within the team/org if/when they make sense in a critical, but thoughtful and empathetic way

  • Coach and mentor engineers across the org and challenge status quo when needed

  • Have ownership of a large part of the FS Dashboard, are able to bring the seller’s perspective into conversations, and push on product/design to deliver the best possible experience for them

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and related web frameworks (such as ReactJS, EmberJS, etc.)

  • Proven record of successfully delivering large features (spanning ~1+ year) from start to finish with strong collaboration, communication, and ownership

  • 8+ years of experience with web markup, including HTML5, CSS3

  • 8+ years of experience with frontend build tools such as Webpack, ESbuild, Vite

  • 5+ years of experience of writing unit/integration/E2E tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright, etc.)

  • 2+ years of experience working with micro frontend architecture
