Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient’s functional status and home environment
- Identify equipment needs and participate in the development of the total plan of care
- Develop treatment program and establish goals for improved function
- Teach new skills, retrain in once familiar daily activity skills, fabricate splints, train in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices
- Maintain appropriate clinical records and communication with other personnel involved in patient’s care
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants according to organization policy and state regulations
- Participate in discharge planning
- Participate in case conference as required
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of an occupational therapist education program accredited by ACOTE with current licensure to practice in state of operation
- 2+ years occupational therapy experience
- Home health experience preferred
- Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence
