The Teacher Assistant I is a critical member of the Marletta Darnall Child & Family Center team, using Early Head Start, and Creative Curriculum® to enhance the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of children through play and hands-on experiences. As an Assistant Teacher, you will gain experience in an early childhood classroom and be supported in working towards your career goals in the Early Childhood field.

Candidate qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or GED certificate with some related life experiences or completion of child care course required.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) with a plan to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR Associate’s Degree currently in progress preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus.

Job details: 

  • CompensationRange starts at $16.31/hr; offers are commensurate with experience. Bilingual candidates may receive additional financial compensation.
  • Additional Compensation: $1,000 Hiring Bonus (amount may vary based on part-time hours; payable after 60 days of employment, limited time offer).
  • Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here) 
  • Location: On-site at our Marletta Darnall Child & Family Center
  • Schedule: Full-time, hourly; center is open Mon-Fri, 7:30am-5:30pm; assigned shifts will vary.
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
