Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Analytical Chemist in the Samples Analysis group at our Ann Arbor location. In this role, you will execute a variety of routine sample preparation and analysis and solve problems for internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

  • Completes analytical testing on various types of samples through validated cGMP methods.
  • Executes projects from start to finish including proper documentation, sample preparation, instrumental analysis, data interpretation, and reporting results to clients.
  • Generates client reports and supporting laboratory documentation in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines
  • Capable of working independently and in team-based projects.
  • Learn various types of instrumentation techniques with guidance from senior staff including but not limited to HPLC, GCFID, GCMS, LCMS.
  • Follow and understand internal SOPs and regulating documents
  • Issue reports and receive samples to and from the respective entities
  • Coordinating with other team members to carry out work as per the planning schedule
  • Manual handling of samples
  • General maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment
  • Working to all cGMP standards
  • Ensuring compliance to all Element Material Technology quality standards
  • Willing to assist in other activities from time to time that may be requested by the department manager to assist in the execution of Element Material Technology annual targets and budget

Skills / Qualifications

  • B.S in Chemistry or related field, with 0-3 years' experience, or knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques demonstrated through a combination of industry and academic performance
  • Ability to take direction and follow guidelines to adhere to site quality requirements
  • Effective time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • This would be a great position for a new college graduate. Limited knowledge is needed before hiring but someone willing to learn and master new techniques quickly would be a great fit
