Job Description

The Internal Testing Specialist develops and implements testing plans for various software development initiatives.  Development includes identifying test protocols, determining testing resources, and integrating test criteria into user stories.  Implementation includes executing the testing plans, coordinating testing resources, and ensuring quality testing is completed.  This testing is part of the Quality Assurance, Regression, and User Acceptance testing phases.  The Coordinator supports and engages in a collaborative work environment between testers that assures and validates that software tools and applications developed by the Software Development group function as specified and meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of the end-use customer.  

  • Manage/supervise/execute testing processes and procedures in conjunction with Software Development and a virtual dynamic team

  • Communicate clearly to stakeholders, both in writing and verbally, specific test results, feedback, and any appropriate actions suggested

  • Mentor/train people supporting Testing

  • Lead and advise others regarding quality control for specific projects or applications as assigned by management

  • Proactively seek learning opportunities and stay current on new skills to bring benefit to the local program office and projects.

Qualifications

Minimum:       

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or 4 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • 1 year of relevant experience 

Preferred:        

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with testing software
  • Experience leading a team
  • Internal product and systems knowledge
  • Competent in Engineering and Builder Services systems
