Job Description
BlueScope Construction has an exciting opportunity for a full-time, summer Structural Engineering Intern to join our organization. The Engineering Intern will gain exposure to a wide range of engineering concepts including working on active steel projects, participating in a collaborative work environment, project coordination and learning the process of design and design checking.
This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills they may have acquired in school related to their particular areas of interest and apply them in a professional setting. The candidate will have opportunities to network with different functional areas within our business.
Job Duties/Projects:
- Work on ensuring building’s structural integrity and safety
- Learn basic product and procedure knowledge
- Participate in a “live” project that will go to fabrication
- Network with different functional areas of the business
- Visit our Research and Development Location & a Manufacturing Facility
Qualifications
Education:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering or related field.
Skills Required:
Experience with Microsoft business application software (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
Competencies:
Time Management, Organizational Skills, Interpersonal Savvy and Drive for Results
