Job Description

The Division Maintenance Manager provides project management and maintenance support for the achievement of company operating plans and objectives.  The Manager works in a team environment with the Operations team and Plant Managers to accomplish corporate goals and objectives set by the management team.  They provide oversight to the division maintenance program to ensure they are working towards the strategic maintenance goals and objectives of the company through standard processes, procedures and metrics.  The Division Maintenance Manager also supports global initiatives including:  project management, equipment moves, best practice implementation, plant layouts, equipment specifications, etc. as directed by management.  Specific responsibilities include:

Maintenance

  • Defines strategic Maintenance goals and objectives.  Leads monthly meetings to review objectives and plant tracking towards these objectives.
  • Standardizes Maintenance processes, performance metrics 
  • Implements, utilizes and supports the COGZ Maintenance Management System (MMS)
  • Develops, manages and supports the Maintenance Skills Training program (MST)

Capital Project Management

  • Leads or supports implementation of major capital projects.  This may include developing project plans, spec’ing out equipment, ordering equipment, buying off on equipment, assisting with install and commissioning of equipment and developing Preventive Maintenance instructions, AM’s, Lock Out Tag Out instructions, Job Safety Analysis, Work Instructions, etc.
  • On major projects led, ensures capital projects are submitted according to the capital governance process (through the Request for Capital Expenditure system)
  • Project manages projects related to major plant shutdowns, startups or significant reorganizations.  This includes project plans, budgets, executions, sale of surplus equipment, etc.

Manufacturing Excellence Support

  • Provides technical assistance for modifications to or the development of new manufacturing processes.  This includes modifications to forming, fabrication, welding, finishing and packaging of current product as well as manufacturing of new products
  • Oversees Mobile Equipment specifications, Code of Practice compliance, and selection and maintenance of cost reduction activities
  • Leads overhead crane inspection program and is an active member of the corporate crane network for Code of Practice development
  • Supports management in generating cost reduction ideas and implementing cost reduction projects
  • Assists Product Excellence and Innovation groups on new products by obtaining quotes and lead times on new equipment, manufacturability of parts, and new product justification as needed
  • Maintains an understanding of current industry manufacturing technologies to support company and plant initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Proven capabilities successfully managing significant projects such as Plant start-ups, shutdowns, restructuring, equipment purchases, etc. over $5M
  • Experience in equipment schematics and documentation including electrical and hydraulic drawings
