BGE Inc is looking for a Senior Project Manager - Stormwater / Roadway Drainage Engineering with a strength for Business Development as well as Leadership experience leading Stormwater Management Design and Roadway Drainage Design Teams with strength in Business Development for our Transportation Systems Department based in Austin, TX---either sit in North Austin (Round Rock) or South Austin (Directors Blvd) office or San Antonio (San Pedro Ave).

Job Responsibilities 

  • Leadership of Teams Designing stormwater management systems, storm drain systems, open channel conveyance, and culvert analysis.
  • Leadership of Teams performing Roadway Drainage analysis and design on multiple projects with many complex features.
  • Leadership of Teams conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepares hydrologic and hydraulic models, evaluates results, and summarizes results and recommendations to produce drainage impact studies, conveyance analysis, storage analysis, and other drainage improvements.
  • Provides technical input/review of project deliverables.
  • Be a recognized leader in the local community; and be active with the outside organizations.
  • Maintain and develop key relationships with public and private clients, including strategic teaming partners.
  • Identify business development / growth opportunities through new and existing markets and clients.
  • Identify and recruit staff with necessary skills to drive growth initiatives.

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
  • At minimum, must be licensed in State of Texas as a Project Engineer (PE).
  • 10+ years of experience in drainage, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, or related surface water engineering is preferred but not required.
  • Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling experience desired including both steady and unsteady modeling, 1D and 2D modeling (e.g. EPA SWMM) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency using drafting software (Open Roads Designer, and MicroStation) desired and drainage design software (esp. ORD Subsurface Utilities and Drainage Analysis and/or Geopak Drainage) desired.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Experience with TX DOT projects is desirable.
  • Prefer experience or knowledge in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, XPSWMM 1D & 2D, ArcGIS or ArcPro, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-GeoHMS, or ArcHydro, ESRI, HY-8
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
