Job Summary:
The Sr Commercial Dive Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to oversee the planning and execution of the diving operation, including the safety and health of the dive team. They must adhere to and maintain strict compliance with company policies and procedures, established health and safety protocols, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Education:
- Diploma from ADCE Compliant Commercial Dive School
- Current ADCI mixed gas diving supervisor certification
- Nitrox endorsement a plus
- Current ADCI Compliant Dive Physical
- Current First Aid, CPR, AED, Oxygen Administration Certifications
- OSHA 10 Hour – Construction
- Must have own commercial dive gear including (if diving): Dive Helmet, Dry Suit, Hot Water Suit, Weight Belt, Gloves, Thermals, Wet Suit, Dive Knife, Harness, and Bail-Out Bottle / Spares
- Valid Driver’s License with current driving record free from serious or frequent violation. Recommended to obtain Class “A” CDL permit within 60 days of hire
Experience:
- 5 years’ experience working in commercial diving operations.
- Extensive experience working with Heliox
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel with the capability to learn new computer software including tablet-based safety programs and job/project reporting.

- Ability to cut and weld steel, using underwater welding / burning equipment, jigs, and supports.

Responsibilities:
- Performs gas analysis, gage management, mixed gas monitoring and monitors slide and ventilation rates.
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of CNS O2 toxicity, Hypercapnia, POIS, and decompression sickness and respond with the correct course of action.
- Responsible for the safety of every member of the dive team.
- Execution of field work encompassed diving operations including underwater construction, maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Assign the duties of all members of the diving team and personally direct them throughout the diving operation.
- Correct completion of all job-specific, employee-related paperwork including daily job reports, dive logs, JHAs, dive plans, and inspection results.
- Understand and enforce project’s detailed scope-of-work to maintain strict compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Effectively communicate job schedule, scope changes, safety concerns, and all other aspects of the job to management, dive team, and clients.
- Work safely and ensure that the crew is working safely during all phases of performing the job duties required in the field.
- Takes appropriate safety precautions, such as monitoring dive times and depths.
- Ensure diving operations are carried out from a suitable and safe location on the surface.
- Develop, modify, and produce pre- and post- dive checklists for the operation.
- Develop and implement emergency/contingency procedures.
- Be aware of the procedures to follow to obtain medical support in the event of an accident, either diving or non-diving related. Ensure a two-way communication system is available at the dive location to obtain emergency assistance.
- Ensure all personnel on the diving team are qualified and physically able to perform tasks assigned.
- Ensure that the diving equipment designated for use is suitable for the planned diving operation, compliant with regulatory requirements for the diving mode used, inspected prior to each dive and is in good working order.
- Ensure that all relevant operating instructions, manuals, decompression tables, treatment schedules and regulatory publications are available at the dive location and are maintained to reflect current changes and/or developments.
- Ensure the detailed briefing between the diving team and support personnel, including tasks to be undertaken, unusual hazards or environmental conditions.
- Maintain a depth, bottom time, and breathing mix profile at the dive location for each diver during the dive.
Physical Demands / Working Environment:
- Performs physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Moves heavy objects (94 lbs. or more) short distances (20’ of less).
- Moves light objects (less than 94 lbs.) long distances (more than 20’).
- Works long shifts with non-standard break times.
- Travels and works for many weeks at a time away from home.
- Works in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
- Lifts arms above shoulder level (i.e. lifts items into a truck or overhead area).
- Climbs ladders or steps to reach objects.
- Works at heights of up to 50’ or more.
- Works in confined or enclosed spaces.
- Sits or stands for long periods of time.
- Wears a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toed boots, and other applicable PPE.
- Walks moderated distances to reach work area (1/2 mile or more).
- Sits in the operator’s seat of equipment and reaches all pedals, switches, levers, buttons, etc., required to safely operate the equipment.
- Sits in the operator’s seat of equipment and has an adequate field of vision of all instruments, gauges, warning lights, as well as an acceptable field of vision out of the windows/mirrors.
- Adequate hearing, enough to receive and understand instructions, be alerted by horns, sirens, shouting, or any other noise that is meant to convey a safety warning
