The Contract Attorney shall work with Procurement and Contracts team to manage Agency's overall procurement and contracting process. Including development, monitoring, review, drafting, negotiation, and renewal of Agency contracts. Importance in ensuring timely processing and completion, regulatory compliance, internal approvals, and relationship management.

Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Draft, negotiate, and complete contracts to capture the best possible terms and conditions for the Agency. Specific attention given to cost savings, liabilities related to non-profit Agencies, and compliance with policies and Procurement regulations.
  • Ensure correct and current templates are used with applicable terms & conditions.
  • Serve as contract administrator on awarded contracts. Assist internal customers and external parties with contract questions and issues.
  • Manage information flow through contract document management system and through daily usage of Excel documents to manage personal workload.
  • Provide contract reports and statistics to management as requested.
  • Maintain periodic review of Active contracts to manage term notices and quality control of data.
  • Communicate with management regarding workflow status, contract issues, etc. by providing thorough and detailed responses.
  • Develop external relationships to expand knowledge of supply marketplace and internal relationships to understand Agency’s procurement and contract needs.
  • Assist with procurements as needed by drafting solicitations for RFP/Q’s, as appropriate which must follow regulatory guidelines to ensure correct and current information which result in negotiations, cost savings, and compliance in documentation.
  • Review applicable laws, policies/regulations to determine positions that best protect the Agency and communicates with Programs and business units to support legal compliance and consistency.
  • Complete special contract projects and additional tasks as required by management.
