Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Systems Engineer to support the IFC AMD Mission Command Product Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Will work with contractors, government civilians, and system operators to develop system-level concepts that provide solutions to problems that often involve multiple systems from multiple product offices. These concepts define external interfaces and outline system behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to support HW and SW engineering teams.
• Tasks may also include leading reviews and adjudicating comments made against the concepts. Concept development will utilize a model-based system engineering (MBSE) approach in an Agile workflow and environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field is required.
• Candidate should have 7 or more years of system engineering experience.
• The candidate must have experience in one or more of the following areas: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirement decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.
• Must be comfortable working as a team member in an Agile environment and be willing to engage various levels of stakeholders to ensure proposed solutions can meet the needs of the intended users.
• The system engineer must be highly organized with a strong technical background in system engineering principles.
• Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• System engineering experience in support of DoD programs is highly desired, especially in an Army Air and Missile Defense program.
• Hands-on experience creating models in Cameo or MagicDraw using SysML and UAF is desired.
• Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence, and SAFe^© Agile experience are a plus.
