WINDOWS ENGINEER - Radford, Va.

  • Directly supporting the warfighters in the field.
  • Project delivers a hyperconverged, multitenant private cloud hosting environment for Army enterprise and tactical applications, leveraging the full suite of VMware products and advanced automation platforms.
  • This role is vital to the success of Army operations in the Pacific theater, providing engineering, implementation, and sustainment expertise for Windows-based services within a cutting-edge DevSecOps framework.
  • Responsibilities of the Windows Engineer:
  • Collaborate with Government engineers to develop and maintain AECC architecture.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Windows services in AECC.
  • Provision customer Windows resources using IaC as new applications are hosted.
  • Maintain patching services for all Windows hosts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Windows administration and market trends.
  • Manage Active Directory objects as delegated.
  • Perform Active Directory user account and member server management in assigned OUs.
  • Provide daily administration of Windows-based VMs and AECC services.
  • Harden Windows services per commercial best practices and government cybersecurity controls.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for Windows issues.
  • Coordinate and execute major OS version upgrades for virtual machines.
  • Develop and maintain system, infrastructure, and process documentation.
  • Provide on-call support for after-hours production incidents.
  • Recommend improvements for security, scalability, manageability, and performance across network, storage, and compute services.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years above mentioned Tasks/Duties, with Windows Server and Active Directory administration, engineering, implementation, and sustainment of Active Directory and Group Policy Objects, IaC, troubleshooting skills across the technology stack: network, storage, server, and applications. 
  • MUST Be Available to work on site at Radford, Virginia Monday thru Friday with possible Weekend, Holiay and Last Minute needs!
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION: BS/BA STEM Degree or Related Fields.
  • REQUIRED CERTIFICATION(s): Active CompTIA Security+ CE.
  • REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Secret.
