  • Katalyst Healthcares & Life Sciences is hiring entry level candidates for several positions for contract research in Clinical trials of drugs, biologics and medical devices.
  • We have a few immediate job opportunities available in Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance and Clinical Research field. We work with University hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and recruiting partners.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform qPCR analysis, including the extraction of nucleic acids from a variety of sample types and using multiple platforms.
  • Accurately prepare and handle small-volume samples using precision pipetting while maintaining a sterile work environment.
  • Follow established protocols to prevent DNA contamination and eliminate cross-contamination between samples.
  • Adhere to strict laboratory and sterile technique standards in all aspects of laboratory work.
  • Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure reliability and accuracy of results.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with other laboratory team members.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude in identifying and resolving problems, and ask questions when clarification is needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in general biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with a focus in molecular biology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience in molecular biology (preferred).
  • Strong experience in qPCR and nucleic acid extraction techniques.
  • Excellent pipetting skills and ability to work with small volumes accurately and consistently.
  • Familiarity with common laboratory equipment and sterile handling procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working in a clinical or regulated laboratory setting (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
  • Experience with high-throughput workflows.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity required for handling lab instruments and repetitive tasks.
  • May involve handling biohazardous materials with appropriate safety precautions
