Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Controller to be based out of De Pere, WI. Reporting to the Controller of Mechanical Tube, this person will be responsible for planning, forecasting, analysis, management reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls and compliance. In addition, the Controller serves as the business partner to the Plant Manager and General Manager, providing support on all matters relating to the performance, capital and other resource allocation decision analysis, and financial processes.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum 7 years accounting experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a {plus OR requirement}.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems and processes for preparation of operating budgets, financial forecasts, and capital budgets for the product line, report results and advise management accordingly.
- Ensure that appropriate accounting and Atkore financial practices are followed.
- Maintain general ledger and related general accounting processes.
- Manage month, quarter, and year end closing activities - preparing and posting journal entries, reviewing manufacturing expenses, completing account reconciliations.
- Satisfy Atkore reporting requirements and provide management with the reliable information necessary to control operations.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP required.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Action oriented - enjoys working towards goals/deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills allowing for a challenging and constructive engagement with all management levels of organization.
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Complete your Atkore immersion program.
- Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
- Gain an understanding of the business and team you work with and support.
Within 6 months, you’ll:
- Ensure that appropriate accounting and Atkore financial practices are followed.
- Provide analytical and accounting and reporting support at product-line and customer level.
- Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence.
Within 12 months, you’ll:
- Provide sound financial analysis, financial planning tools, and economic decision-making support to the VP & GM and their management team. Key areas of focus include pricing, revenue and gross margin, rebates, selling and administrative expenses, operating performance, working capital and other key performance indicators (KPI's).
- Partner with sales, operations, and plant leaders to meet performance objectives, providing guidance and counsel while doing so.
- Convert monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data into understandable summaries to drive recommendations and actions by the individual and leadership team.
