Maintenance Manager

Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Manager to be based out of De Pere, WI. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for leading the Maintenance team and managing the functions of the Maintenance department and to aid and improve the operational performance of the facility.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in facility management or related field. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, identifying the impact on maintenance activities.
- Manage relevant systems and equipment data storage while maintaining high levels of standards and accuracy.
- Manage end-to-end process of the introduction of new machinery and/or equipment from design inception through full installation, working in collaboration with all necessary parties.
- Manage the end-to-end process of disposal of obsolete machinery and/or equipment from gaining agreement through removal, ensuring safe and lawful disposal.
- Lead various projects, to include “Just Do-Its” and "Capital Expenditures".
- Provide technical expertise in all areas relating to the functions of the maintenance department.
- Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels, and systems to deliver on projects, including the engagement of external resources when needed.
- Manage contractors on site regarding safety and contractual requirements.
- Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of staff and visitors.
What you’ll bring:
- Extensive manufacturing experience with significant proven management experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in facility management, or related field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Technical capability and understanding of hydraulics, electrical schematics, overhead cranes and hoists, powered presses, etc.
- Active member of the Maintenance, Engineering and Reliability Society (MER), Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP), and/or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) program preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Advanced math and verbal skills.
Within 3 months, you'll:
- Complete your Atkore onboarding and immersion program, focusing on understanding Atkore’s culture, the Atkore Business System, and building relationships across Atkore to support your facility.
- Understand how your job impacts Atkore and how your objectives align with Atkore’s strategic priorities.
- Have a general understanding of the Maintenance Manager role at Atkore and be gradually delivering value to your facility.
Within 6 months, you'll:
- Full use of the CMMS and related systems.
- Fully understand areas of opportunity to improve our maintenance program and KPIs.
- Begin to create a development and cross training plan for the maintenance team.
Within 12 months, you'll:
- Inspire a culture of accountability and actively drive individuals toward desired maintenance excellence outcomes.
- Develop processes to help the organization reduce maintenance delays, including building strategic working relationships throughout the organization.
- Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.
