Job Description

Summary 
The Assistant In-Room Dining Manager manages the daily operations of room service while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction. Keep in daily communication with room service manager through department tools.

Essential Job Functions
• Enforce and comply with all policies and procedures of the Food and Beverage Department, The Little Nell and The Aspen Skiing Company
• Control Labor costs: monitor ProfitSword and adjust staffing levels accordingly
• Complete Payroll, assist with scheduling and Staff Discipline
• Responsible for the safety and proper handling of staff and equipment
• Supervise staff in their work, whilst maintaining high performance levels
• Oversee table set-up, side duties and delivery times
• Supervise the care of equipment, minimize waste, breakage and misuse
• Do monthly inventories, recommend purchases to manager and ensure the accuracy of requisitions
• Communicate with both IRD and Culinary staff regularly.. Seek out staff opinion for improving operations
• Train all new hires to five star standards
Ensure that all staff gets tested on their menu knowledge on a monthly basis
Take an active part on weekly Food and Beverage meetings
• Ensure room service area is clean and maintained. Keep back of the house clean and organized
• Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction. Make immediate corrective action when a guest's needs are not met
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times. Ensure staff appearance and conduct is impeccable
• Supervise the Mini Bar program: Reduce wastage and suggest new products
• Supervise the creation and delivery of interesting and attractive guest amenities
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety and fire procedures. Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management and the established emergency plan
• Enforce Local liquor and sanitation ordinances
•    Report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook and departmental rules
•    Report to shift on time
•    Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager
•    Assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand

Qualifications

•   High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
•   3-4 years’ experience with Food and Beverage and at least 1 year supervisor experience
•   Working knowledge of wine, food and cooking methods
•   Excellent organizational and telephone skills
•   Experience and ability to delegate and supervise effectively
•   Good command of the English language

Supervision Given and Received 
Given:  Exercises general supervision over In-Room Dining Staff. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under general supervision of the In Room Dining Manager. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.

Work Environment and Physical Demands 
•    Ability to be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time 
•    Regularly work in adverse conditions and requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
•    Must be able to lift, push or pull occasionally up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
