WHAT YOU'LL DO

Ascend Learning is now hiring a Sr. Instructional Designer. As a Sr. Instructional Designer, you will design and deliver learning and development programs for the organization, enabling the growth of our people and business. The Sr. Instructional Designer will report to the Director of Talent, Inclusion and HR, and will work in collaboration with the extended Human Resources team to align talent capabilities to support both short and long-term organizational outcomes and objectives. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success designing, executing, and facilitating high-quality learning and development initiatives that enhance the skills and knowledge of our people. WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This position will be working a hybrid schedule from our Burlington, MA or Leawood, KS office location.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Bring instructional design expertise to create and deploy learner-centric content and develop contemporary solutions that meet diverse learning styles.
  • Design, develop, and deploy high-quality curated learning materials and exercises that ensure knowledge transfer, skill adoption, and create future readiness.
  • Develop and execute a cohesive portfolio of learning experiences for our people.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify learning needs and objectives.
  • Organize and lead focus groups and subject-matter expert meetings to drive instructional design decisions; Synthesize ongoing feedback and develop action plans for implementing insights.
  • Implement tracking and measurements to ensure the success of delivered programs.
  • Manage relationships with existing vendors and identify and partner with additional vendors as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in instructional design and adult learning.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Instructional Design degree preferred or 4+ years of growing experience in instructional design.
  • Experience with a wide variety of instructional design tools and methodologies, including cutting-edge technology and concepts in areas of assessment, and career development.
  • Apply instructional design, adult learning principles, development, and authoring approaches aimed at delivering engaging learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated, end-to-end project/program management experience including conception and initiation, planning, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close.
  • Collaborate with the ability to brainstorm and bring new perspectives to the table.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills to communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all management levels.
  • Keen attention to detail, action-oriented, and demonstrated ability to successfully move forward multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, communicate with impact, and collaborate effectively across all functions and levels of the organization.
  • Approximately 10-20% travel
