Meyer Utility Structures is currently looking to hire 2nd shift Welders for our plant located in Hager City, WI. As a Welder at Meyer Utility Structures, you will weld according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders. Welding to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding together structural steel and other metals to build utility structure products.

Schedule: 2nd shift - Mon- Fri 2:45 pm – 12:45 am, Fridays are mandatory overtime, between 8 to 10hr.
Wage range: 25.50 – 29.62 with shift differential pay – additional $1.00 per hour.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform basic repairs
- Perform full penetration (such as slip joint) welds to weld ends to poles or channels
- Operate grinding equipment
- May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
- May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools in accordance with layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
- May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
- Maintain and complete all required records
- Qualify as a flat welder
- Maintain 90% pass rate on UT inspection
- Observe all standard safety practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
- Minimum of 1 year of applicable welding experience or successful completion of weld training and education
- Flux or Metal Core welding experience highly preferred
- Ability to accurately measure within specified tolerances highly preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders highly preferred
- Previous experience manufacturing transmission poles or related products is highly desired, but not required
