Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is searching for a CNC Machinist that will be based in our Bossier City, LA plant. In this role, you will operate mechanical or CNC equipment, including milling machines and lathes, to produce metal parts.
Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group is comprised of Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.
What You'll Do:
- Operate mechanical or CNC equipment, including milling machines and lathes, to produce metal parts
- Prepare by checking specifications and blueprints, calculating how to shape the material, and setting equipment controls
- Monitor speed and heat of machining equipment
- Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product
- Follow all safety rules and practices
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Operate HAAS and Mazak CNC lathes and mills
What You'll Need:
- Certified in CNC or 2 to 5 years of previous equipment operation experience a plus
- An understanding of shop math and the ability to read and verify specifications
