Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop manufacturing process for new and legacy parts
· Design work holding and fixtures for CMM related tasks
· Program parts and fixtures using Calypso software
· Use machine simulation software to ensure collision free measurement plans
· Communicate and resolve issues with co-workers/manufacturing
· Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas on new and legacy parts
· Inspects high value, complex and tightly tolerance parts accurately and dependably, utilizing a wide variety of mechanical and computerized inspection equipment (such as micrometers, gages, digital height gages, optical comparators)
· Consult with supervisors, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input requirements, and output requirements
· Converts designs and specifications into measurement plans
· Provides technical assistance by responding to inquires regarding errors or problems
· Document production non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes when required
· Train fellow employees to operate the CMM
· Create AS9102 compliant First Article Inspection packages as required
Skills, Education and Experience
· Minimum of 3 years of Zeiss CMM experience
· Must be proficient programming a Zeiss CMM and Calypso software
· Must be able to use a wide range of measurement devices such as optical comparators, indicators, micrometers, verniers, threaded and straight plug gages, pitch micrometers, CMM etc.
· Must have a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
· Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and inspection instructions and determine product conformance based on such documents
· Must be able to interact and communicate with co-workers at all levels of the organization with respect and dignity
· Experience working in an ISO 13485 and/or AS9100 regulated workspace is a plus
· Experience managing a calibration system and performing equipment calibration is a plus
· Minitab software experience is a plus

· Must be able to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain all of the software applications and peripheral equipment used at the college level

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Physical Demands
The ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 lbs. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and dexterity, including ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information.
Work Environment
Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work
