ONSITE NEED FOR A CIVIL / STRUCTUAL INSPECTOR IN LEAVENWORTH, KS

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established company that works with Federal Agencies and has positions open throughout the country. APSI is currently seeking a Civil / Structural Inspector to be part of an Owner's agent (CMa) team in support of the FBOP in Leavenworth, Kansas on the FCI Leavenworth project. This is a Full-Time position starting in March for 2-3 years, on a $450 M project.
The Civil / Structural Inspector will be an essential part of the CMa team and will provide sound and proactive management advice to BOP to ensure the project is run safely and all BOP standards are met. The Civil / Structural Inspector shall have full understanding of the project contract documents, BOP and end user goals and requirements as validated by the CO. The Civil / Structural Inspector shall effectively monitor, assess, coordinate, and inspect the construction work of the contractor on behalf of BOP.
Responsibilites:
- Maintain excellent relationships with clients, the design/build contractor and Design teams
- Provide daily site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes
- Coordinate in the field with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, designers, and regulatory agencies · Prepare daily reports
- Review the Contractor's schedule
- Labor compliance
- Coordinate 3rd-party special material testing inspections
- Review and provide input on design documents and potential change order issues
- Maintain project records
- Manage project photographic records
- Verification of field surveys
- Report on project issues and provide status updates
- Perform other duties as may be required.
Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):
- The Civil / Structural Inspector should have a minimum of (5) years of experience inspecting various types of construction scope of work but specifically scopes including civil and structural components. The inspector should have specialized training and a minumum of (5) years experience providing similar services on projects of comparable size and complexity;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 30HR OSHA Safety card (prior to start);
- The ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environment;
- Strong computer skills, experience with Windows Office and construction management software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an inspector on projects greater than $100M in value that include civil and structual components in the scope of work
- Experience as an inspector on federal projects and familiarity with federal policies and procedures
