Fire Protection Estimator Assistant
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the sell of new system designs, installations, and commissioning; estimate modifications and upgrades. This individual will learn how to cultivate new business relationships, maintain existing accounts, and ensure the fulfillment of established sales goals through estimating and bidding on fire protection projects. The target market will be those companies in the commercial, government, industrial, hospitality and healthcare industries.
Job Responsibilities
- Review construction contract documents, and coordinate with general contractor / owner to gather the required information to develop pricing
- Layout systems and assist to establish pipe sizing.
- Assist in determine construction feasibility, system possibilities, prepare cost estimates, and present effective proposals that offer solutions to customer life safety needs
- Develop and maintain an active proposal backlog
- Assist in developing and maintaining new and existing customer relationships to ensure WSFP meets or exceeds their expectations of a long-term partner
- Support other WSFP Teams in their initiatives as they relate to your territory
Job Qualifications
- Three to five years’ experience in the fire protection industry is preferred but not required
- Previous construction industry experience is preferred
- CAD software experience in fire protection system layout and hydraulic calculations preferred
- Strong ability to perform basic mathematics efficiently
- Perform work in a timely manner and meet deadlines
- Detail orientated with an ability to organize and effectively manage multiple complex tasks and solve problems
- Positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
- Highly motivated and proactive
- Excellent communication skills-written and verbal
- Ability to create local and distance relationships with General Contractors
- Strong prospecting skills
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Willing to pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference check
