As a result of continued growth, we are currently seeking candidates for a Fire Alarm Service Technician at our office in Holbrook, NY.  In this role, you will be expected to troubleshoot various fire alarm systems.

What makes someone successful in this role?

  • The ability to read, interpret and apply technical design requirements of fire protection codes and standards (Such as NFPA 70, 72, etc.), building codes, fire codes, insurer criteria, and other technical design documents. 
  • Possessing a strong understanding of fire alarm systems. 
  • Strong customer services skills, project management skills, and basic electrical knowledge.
  • Good mathematical aptitude along with good oral, written and communication skills and a valid driver license.
  • Self-motivated to continue learning through training classes, courses and seminars as requested by supervisor.

As Technician, you will...

  • Perform inspection and testing on fire alarm systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair of fire alarm systems.
  • Complete inspection reports and service work orders
  • Installation of fire alarm equipment in accordance with code requirements
  • Read and interpret building construction documents such as drawings, specifications and other contract documents. 
  • Prepare lists for ordering of fire alarm and detection system equipment.
  • Perform accurate surveys of fire alarm systems in existing buildings.
  • Coordinate installation with electricians 
  • Coordinate activities with Project Manager 

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in performing inspection, service work and troubleshooting is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Willingness to obtain NICET Level certifications.
  • Valid driver's license

Starting Pay Range: $35-$38 per hour
