Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Shop Assistant to our location in Baltimore, MD.  As the Shop Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of tools and materials to the job sites, along with the maintenance of the shop.

As a Shop Assistant, you will: 

• Ensure material is available for the local shop.
• Prepare each job in accordance with the fabrication list or verbal/written instructions.
• Operate shop equipment and machinery in accordance with safety requirements.
• Report discrepancies to Management
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
• Assist the Shop Foreman as required.
• Previous experience testing and maintaining fire extinguishers. 

Qualifications and or Experience:

• Strong mathematical skills with the ability to read a tape measure and add/subtract fractions.
• Strong communication, organizational, reading and time management skills.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Two years of experience in a shop setting a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid driver's license

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to climbs ladders up to 6 foot.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds by self and up to 100 pounds assisted (with another person or mechanical assistance)
• Two years of experience in a shop setting a plus
• Ability to drive a fork-lift.
• Shop environment with exposure to outside elements during all seasons
