The Endoscopic Surgical Centre of Maryland is an outpatient endoscopic facility specializing in performing endoscopic procedures. Our experienced, board certified physicians and quality nursing staff are dedicated to providing superior medical care. Conveniently located in Silver Spring, MD, the center offers efficient, private service at nearly half the cost a hospital would charge.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for supervising and directing nursing care in all areas of the center according to its policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives. Coordinates and directs patient care and related activities of the center according to accepted standards. Shares responsibility for the fiscal activities of the clinical services. Oversees patient scheduling in all clinical areas. Analyzes and evaluates nursing care to improve quality of care given. Works closely with administrative and medical staff in coordinating patient-care service functions.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize, develop, administer and maintain ESCM’s nursing service
- Coordinate and participate in patient care services on a regular basis
- Develop and maintain an ongoing service team in conjunction with the Center Director
- Establish and maintain nursing philosophy and standards of care policies and procedures
- Promote professionalism, collegiality and on-going staff development
- Conduct annual performance reviews for clinical personnel
- Oversee the hiring and retention of personnel
- Conduct staff meetings to maintain two-way communication and provide a venue to evaluate staff issues and concerns
- Contribute to ESCM Quality Management and Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives
- Attend Board of Directors meetings
- Maintains a cost effective approach to supply and equipment management
- Maintains cost effective and efficient staffing plans for the delivery provision of high quality safe patient care
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and accreditation agency requirements
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education/Experience:
Current RN Licensure
- BSN or MSN degree
- ACLS certification
- 3 or more years of prior clinical management experience with a minimum 2 years in an ASC setting.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.
Language Skills:
Ability to understand, read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to successfully write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors and the general public.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and correct errors. Ability to understand and interpret basic financial data. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
Other Qualifications:
Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as approved in advance.
