We are currently searching for a fulltime Circulator to work Mondays – Fridays who can work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks. Circulator nurse who prepares for an operation and continually monitors the patient during its course, who works in the operating room outside the sterile field in which the operation takes place, and who records the progress of the operation, accounts for the instruments, and handles specimens.
Job Description:
- Proactively participates as a team member in support of the total surgical process
- Organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel to provide effective and deficient case management
- Supervises and directs patient care in the operating/procedure room
- Addresses patient needs specific to the surgical procedure
- Transports patients to or from the operating/procedure room, as needed, observing policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Provides comfort and reassurance to patient
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to prepare the operating/procedure room according to requirements of patient, physician, and procedure, to include but not be limited to assembling and providing properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments.
- Confirms proper aseptic and sterile techniques are used according to accepted standards of practice.
- Performs the surgical preparation.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current Arizona RN/LPN License
- BLS certification required
- ASC experience preferred
- Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
