We are currently searching for full time Certified Sterile Processing Technician to work 32 hours per week Mondays – Fridays who can work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks.  Major responsibilities are requisitioning all autoclaving supplies, instruments, and implantable devices used in daily operation of the department and equipment used in patient care.  Competency in performing sterilization process including decontamination, assembly, packaging, and the biological and chemical monitoring of the sterilizers.  Ensure proper logging and documentation of the sterilizing processes.  Properly utilizes and abides by the Instructions for Use (IFU) supplied by the manufactures for sterilization of equipment. Maintains a clean and safe environment by adhering to the Standard Precautions and Infection Control practices. 

You must possess a HS school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Requires current national certification as an SPD Technician, Certified Registered Central Service Technician or Surgical Instrument Processor and one year of experience with sterile instruments.

Ability to break down moving parts, cleaning, lubricating and reassembling with problem solving skills as it relates to incomplete trays and missing instrumentation. Must have strong organizational skills with effective communication and human relation skills. Basic computer skills and one year orthopedic experience with surgical instruments/equipment processing and terminology preferred.
