Job Description
The Vice President of Sales will effectively increase revenue through the strategic engagement of our sales team. The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for meeting annual sales targets, effectively building and maintaining executive level relationships with new and existing clients and building brand awareness and loyalty through the sales experience.
Job Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Regularly meet with existing and new clients in all key markets. This the most important aspect of the position and where the majority of time will be spent.
- Plan and implement annual sales strategy to achieve annual revenue targets
- Develop territory team protocol to strategically grow business
- Training, educating, motivating, and mentoring an international sales force comprising three flagship showrooms (NYC, LA, London), company headquarters in Richmond, outside salespeople and representation in one multi-line showroom
- Establish robust follow-up protocol
- Increase quote to close ratio
- Effectively use Salesforce to measure and grow sales and improve the sales process
- Coordinate sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the sales organization
- Proactively monitors and maintains high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency within the sales organization
- Proactively identifies opportunities for continuous process improvement.
- Proactively promote new products to existing customers and new prospects.
- Work with marketing to create necessary sales tools
CLIENT DEVELOPMENT:
- Develop meaningful relationships with high-level residential interior designers to build repeat business
- Exceed customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
- VIP client management
SALES OPERATIONS:
- Monitor and report on product development opportunities
- Manage protocol to streamline and increase sales using Salesforce
- Identify new prospective accounts and cultivate existing underperforming accounts of potential to capture new sales opportunities
- Standardize presentation format, flow and delivery tools among sales team
- Collaborate with territories on region-specific needs and opportunities for lead generation
BRAND AMBASSADOR:
- Attend outside events, seminars and other functions on behalf of the company
- Host and attend McKinnon and Harris events on behalf of the company
- Proactively promote McKinnon and Harris company events, promotions and activities to existing and prospect accounts
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Position requires long hours, evenings and up to 50% travel. Works in environmentally controlled office. Position requires extensive phone and computer work, walking, bending, sitting for extended periods of time, travel by air or car, lifting furniture weighing 35 pounds, and ability to distinguish colors.
- Maintains confidentiality of all company information, both internally and externally.
- Uphold company standards and image presentation with respect to service, dress code and communications
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs additional duties as requested by the President
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree, business, or related field, or equivalent experience, MBA preferred. A minimum of 5 years outside sales management experience. Must possess excellent verbal/written communications and organizational skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and CRM Software.

- Drive for going beyond what is expected with the ability to inspire others to do the same.
- Experience developing and maintaining high level relationships at residential design firms with influencers and decision makers. Seen as a trusted advisor.
