Business Development Director

As part of our expansion strategy, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director with a specialization in cultivating relationships with private equity firms. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growth and establish key partnerships within the private equity landscape.

As a Business Development Director focused on Private Equity, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, prospecting, winning new clients and building strategic partnerships with private equity companies. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth by understanding the unique needs and investment criteria of private equity firms and effectively positioning our products/services to align with their objectives.

In addition, as Business Development Director, you will serve as the primary relationship owner for these client accounts with responsibility for retention and revenue growth, ensure clients derive maximum value from our services and to work closely with Private Equity firms and their portfolio companies to identify needs for our products/services to align with their objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market Analysis and Research: Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential private equity partners aligned with our Ideal Client Profile (ICP). Analyze and understand the investment strategies, preferences, and criteria of target private equity firms.
  • Lead Generation, Prospecting and Closing Deals: Generate a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities through targeted outreach and networking, arrange business meetings with prospective clients, conduct discovery meetings to understand the clients’ current state and growth strategies, promote our products/services addressing the clients’ objectives, write the contact and close the deals.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in private equity firms and other sponsors. Engage in regular communication to understand their evolving needs that align with our products/services.
  • Develop and maintain our CRM record of potential and existing clients within the private equity sector.
  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Execute an effective sales strategies for the private equity segment to win new clients and maximize existing relationships to maximize revenue growth. Collaborate with Sales Xceleration leadership team to align efforts and maximize opportunities for cross-selling.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain our CRM records and provide regular updates on sales activities, pipeline status, and market trends. Analyze sales performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • 25%+ travel might be required

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Proven track record in business development, with a focus on building relationships with senior level decision makers in the private equity sector and other related sponsors.
  • Minimum of 7 years successful experience as a direct contributor carrying an individual quota.
  • Experience managing and directing the entire sales cycle from beginning to close.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned annual/quarterly goals and targets.
  • Strong understanding of private equity industry dynamics and investment processes.
  • Ability and experience selling to Director levels within the organization.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Creation and execution of quarterly and annual business plans
  • Attentive to forecasting and business reporting responsibilities.
  • At least an intermediate level in using Microsoft Office products. Especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
