Responsible for the development and executive of the retail sales training plan. This plan is to support the bank's sales strategy on acquiring new clients and provides the integrated delivery of products and services to existing clients in the Ameris Bank footprint. Partners closely with retail associates within the market and external sources to consult on sales opportunities critical to the success of the team.  Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

·       Establish the retail sales strategy in conjunction with the Managing Director of Retail Banking. This includes determining the retail banking's business development and sales goals.

·       Provide ongoing sales training, coaching and development for the retail banking division.

·       Collaborates with key stakeholders to set expectations on sales product implementation and proposals to enhance sales activities.

·       Maintains partnerships and alignment with business executives and senior management.

·       Maintains partnerships and alignment with product providers and negotiates key terms within the contracts for given prospects and existing clients.

·       Identifies key revenue growth opportunities for current clients and potential clients.

·       Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with Ameris Bank’s core values of Integrity and Honesty; always acts in the best interest of the customer when offering additional products and services.

·       Recommends changes to current sales techniques or procedures.

·       Uphold the Ameris Bank Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Purpose, and Core Values. Live every aspect of the “Ameris Approach."

·       Strictly adheres to Bank Secrecy Act requirements and applies organizational policies and procedures in all activities.

·       Maintains working knowledge of the Bank's values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions, as well as ability to leverage information in creating customized client solutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

·       Excellent sales skills.

·       Strong presentation and training skills.

·       Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.

·       Strong problem-solving, negotiation and follow-up skills.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Knowledge of banking policies and procedures.

·       Able to provide a high level of interactive service to others, building relationships and addressing identified needs.

·       Able to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, present findings and make thoughtful recommendations.

·       Advanced proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite products.

Industry and Work Experience:

·       10 years of retail banking and/or sales training experience required.

·       Supervisory or leadership experience.

·       Successful sales management and business development experience.

·       Training and presentation experience.

·       Project management experience preferred.  

Academic:

·       High school diploma or GED required.

·       Bachelor’s degree preferred.
