POSITION SUMMARY:  

JOB SUMMARY:

The Staffing Coordinator’s primary responsibility includes scheduling and supervising staff to ensure the facility’s staffing needs are met.  The position is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of education programs for facility staff in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, and established policies and procedures of the facility.  

 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Identify staffing needs; create work schedules
  • Create daily staffing reports, monitor employee performance; submit reports to management
  • Develop, coordinate and implement educational programs and in-services according to identified priorities
  • Teach 75-hour training program for mandated certified nursing aides training program
  • Provide general orientation to all new employees
  • Schedule post-offer exams, agility and other tests for new employees
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for the Administrator regarding the operation of the in-service department.
  • Participate in on-call assignments
  • Receive, approve and process PTO requests
  • Validate time sheets
  • Complete various reports such as consistency of staffing, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Attend and participate in monthly and quarterly infection control, safety and quality assurance meetings.
  • Maintain accurate in-service attendance and other relevant records such as license/certificate renewal dates.
  • Perform emergency procedures such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • Recognize, intervene and report accidents and incidents when they occur.
  • Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencies.
  • Maintain records of patient accidents and incidents and provide in services to reduce accidents and incidents.
  • Audit documentation for errors or inconsistencies; make necessary corrections or document reasons for corrections not made.
  • Complete additional medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. 
  • Review and determine validity of licensure and certification of personnel as required to meet state and/or federal requirements.
  • Follow the established universal precautions and isolation procedures.
  • Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in patients’ personal and health care needs.
  • Successful completion of required training

  • Reliable transportation

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Education:
  • Currently licensed in the state of Tennessee as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Experience: 
  • Minimum of two (2) years nursing experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other health care institution
  • CPR Certification
