Job Responsibilities:
State Membership Manager responsibilities are to manage the relationship between the American Dental Association and the Constituent and Component Membership staff ensuring established policies and procedures are implemented responsibly. Assist dental societies with the tools, resources, training and assistance needed to have adequate capacity to meet member’s needs and increase the number of new members who join and existing members who renew their membership. Assist the Association in achieving annually set membership market share and additional membership growth goals. This position supervises state dues submission; manages data maintenance in Aptify; administers ADA Bylaws for membership categories; educates new state and local membership staff on membership processes and procedures; manages applications, waivers and affidavits; facilitates communications between dental professionals, staff and third-party vendors; utilizes various electronic tools used for internal and external reporting. This position supervises state dues submission and collection; manages data maintenance and audits in Aptify/Salesforce; administers ADA Bylaws for membership categories.
Must-Have:
- BS/BA (9 years experience in lieu of degree)
- Minimum 5 years experience in customer service in a non-profit environment
- Previous exposure to member record reconciliation and project-based experience with customer orientation
- Excellent oral/written/telephone communication, conflict resolution, customer service, business writing, report writing, problem-solving, basic accounting, and organizational skills
- Ability to use independent judgment and multi-task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Some travel; occasional travel to state and/or local dental societies to help with membership related items; travel to the ADA Annual meeting as needed.

- Previous dues administration experience
