We are seeking applications for a postdoctoral position to lead a study of feedback in star formation using infrared observations from space telescopes. The successful candidate will help lead the analysis of data from the JWST telescope obtained by the HEFE program, a large JWST program led by UToledo, as well as HST data and ground-based IR data. The HEFE program uses both imaging and 2.9-27 micron IFU data to study protostars in the OMC-2/3 region of the Orion molecular clouds. Tasks include analyzing photometry, images, spectra, and spectral-imaging data cubes with the goal of measuring signatures of protostellar accretion and feedback, primarily from low to intermediate mass stars. The candidate will then use these data to make inferences on the impact of feedback and environment on star formation environment. They will lead and contribute to publication of these data and present the results at meeting. In addition, they will collaborate on proposing new studies based on that data. Experience in molecular astronomy, shock models, and/or radiative transfer modeling will also be of value. For further questions about the position, contact Prof. Tom Megeath at s.megeath@utoledo.edu.
Compensation and Benefits
A standards benefits package, including health and dental, will be offered.
