Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position within the gamma-ray astrophysics group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Bartol Research Institute at the University of Delaware. The appointment is for at least one year with extensions possible, subject to performance and availability of funds.
The Delaware gamma-ray group is a member of the VERITAS and CTAO projects, and has played a leading role in the technical and scientific development of these facilities. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with data and Monte Carlo simulations from both projects. They may also contribute to the development of the novel prototype Schwarzchild-Couder telescope. Scientific interests of the group are broad, and include the study of high energy emission from Galactic sources such as gamma-ray binary systems, supernova remnants and pulsar wind nebulae, and the search for counterparts to recently identified ultra-high energy gamma-ray sources.
