Amego School is hiring special education teachers!  Our teachers:

• Provide educational opportunities with the firm belief that everyone is capable of learning.
• Complete assessments.
• Write IEPs and lesson plans.
• Monitor progress.
• Provide training and supervision and to classroom staff.
• Collaborate with related service providers (PT, OT, SLP, BCBA).
• Maintain regular parent communication.

A good candidate will be someone who performs well under pressure, has high energy, and looks forward to being part of a growing, collaborative, and dynamic team. Candidates will have experience modifying academic content and providing accommodations to meet needs of extremely diverse learners and have experience teaching in the areas of functional life skills, community participation, and pre-vocational training.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualified applicants should have:

• A license to teach special education – severe and profound disabilities OR currently on a path to receive such license OR a willingness to pursue such license combined with appropriate experience.
• Experience working with students with Autism in a classroom setting preferred.
• Willingness to work with students who engage in challenging behaviors.
• Have the ability to learn and perform physical management procedures.
• Experience in ABA, including discrete trial teaching and task analysis preferred.

The Head Teacher is responsible for the education of the students in their classroom of five students.

BENEFITS

Salary: $62,000-$70,000 per year

10 weeks paid benefit time- a combination of vacation, sick, and personal time
