The Senior Director of Organizational Development and Learning (ODL) is responsible for the strategy and management of 5 functions: Change Management, Leadership Development, Employee Experience, Employee Onboarding, and Leadership/Team Effectiveness and overseeing department/organizational activities that support organizational goals/mission.  The Senior Director of ODL will ensure Alliance’s overall training and development needs are met through effective, evolving training and development programs and facilitation of the professional development and continuous learning of all staff and business units, including senior management and emerging leaders.

This position will allow the successful candidate the ability to work primarily remote. The employee will be required to come into the office 1-2 days a week, as approved by their supervisor. 

Responsibilities & Duties

Oversee ODL Operations

  • Conduct ongoing assessments of organizational development needs of business and functional units and ensure design and development of training programs that equip staff with the required skills to meet strategic and business goals
  • Design, develop and implement organizational development and training strategies based on the ongoing assessments, tailored to meet current and future organizational goals including strategic goals
  • Identify external resources and consultants that will help meet organizational training and development goals
  • Develop, implement, conduct and tracks measures of all OD and training program effectiveness and updates interventions based on feedback to ensure that the needs of the organization, programs, and individuals are met
  • Lead incorporation of participant feedback into learning and development programs as part of an overall monitoring and improvement process 
  • Oversee design of programs, policies, and interventions that are consistent with organizational values and desired organizational culture
  • Oversee design and ensure implementation of learning programs in conjunction with organization partners to address identified employee needs, support the strategic goals and leverage technology and ongoing development of high performing teams at all levels of the organization
  • Prepare budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources 

Collaboration

  • Provide consultative services to the business units based on pre-defined criteria and within budget
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure applicable departmental and organizational training is conducted 
  • Advise and collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to staff and leadership development 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to advise business teams and provide direction and expertise both internally and externally working with Provider Networks team
  • Work collaboratively with all Alliance staff to enhance cross-departmental effectiveness

Manage and Develop Staff

  • Directs, plans, prioritizes ODL programs, activities and initiatives to attract, maintain, and retain a highly qualified and well-trained workforce
  • Ensure staff are well trained in and comply with all organization and department policies, procedures, and business processes
  • Organize workflows and ensure staff understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure the department has the needed tools and resources to achieve organizational goals and to support employees and ensure compliance with licensure, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
  • Oversee the evolution of instructional delivery methods to improve outcomes and shape new approaches based on participant feedback
  • Actively establish and promote a positive, diverse, and inclusive working environment that builds trust
  • Ensure all staff are treated with respect and dignity
  • Ensure standards are transparent and applied consistently, impartially, and ethically over time and across all staff members
  • Work to resolve conflicts and disputes, ensuring that all participants are given a voice
  • Establish departmental work plan that prioritizes the most effective steps for achieving desired ODL practices
  • Set department goals for performance and deadlines in line with organization goals and vision
  • Effectively communicate feedback and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to staff and support a learning environment to advance team skills and professional development
  • Cultivate and encourage efforts to expand cross-team collaboration and partnership

Minimum Requirements-

Education & Experience

Required:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Organization Development, Human Resources or related field such as psychology, sociology, education, or business and seven (7) years of progressive experience in Organization Development positions with at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Preferred:

Organizational/Training Development Certifications (APTD, CPTD, ODCP, or ODPC) or Human Resource certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)  preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities-

  • Knowledge of organizational development systems, theories, and practices, including accepted methods of measurement and assessment, and practices of leadership and organizational development
  • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to formulate and present ideas effectively, either verbally or in written form
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departmental supervisors and staff
  • Ability to adapt and communicate information to a wide range of audiences and situations.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, mediation, conflict resolution and team building are essential.
  • Educated in cultural diversity issues and sensitive in interactions with various and diverse members of the staff and community

Salary Range 

$106,425.00 to $177,375.00/Annually 

Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
