ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Process combination of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls which entails finalizing payroll data in preparation for transmission to managed services provider (UKGPro).
  • Ensures completeness & accuracy of data along with timeliness of submission.
  • Prepares payroll reports as needed on earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures and reporting related to payroll transactions.
  • Updates and maintains payroll records to include personal information, insurance records & time and attendance records.
  • Investigates inquiries and issues within benefits and payroll and collaborates with HR Team to coordinate resolution of escalated systems; provides follow up communication.
  • Implements and maintains payrolls best practices to improve efficiency and consults with management to improve Payroll and HRIS processes.
  • Ensures compliance with all garnishment, supports orders and works with managed services provider on timely and accurate processing of such wage attachments.
  • Assists in processing monthly billings from third party providers, reviews billings for accuracy and approves payments in a timely manner. Works with carriers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyzes and process’ benefit and payroll reports; creates and/or runs reports from time and attendance system.
  • Ensures compliance with all tax and year end processing to include state tax registration and W2 testing/processing.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Assists in monitoring Payroll and Benefit email box to address inquiries and ensure timely and accurate resolutions.

  • Possess advanced knowledge of US Payroll Taxes to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local payroll tax laws.

  • Identifies process improvement opportunities, generates ideas, and takes part in implementing solutions.
  • Consistently delivers on commitments and demonstrates a commitment to exceed the customer expectations, elevating issues where appropriate.
  • Ability to logically work through and troubleshoot situations.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening
  • Minimum 2 years payroll related work experience or equivalent
  • Positive and Verifiable Work History

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with both union and non-union environments.
  • Experience with UKGPro system.
