SUMMARY:

The Assistant Facilities Director is responsible for directing, coordinating, developing, and supervising all program components for the Facilities Management and Building Services department. This role includes overseeing the maintenance of agency facilities, managing repairs and upgrades by external contractors, ensuring cleanliness of agency grounds, compliance with regulations, and contributing to division development and expansion. The Assistant Facilities Director exercises independent judgment within established policies and procedures, serving as a liaison with other agency programs, external agencies, contractors, and vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Facilities Management will include but are not limited to the following: • Recruits, interviews, hires, orients, trains, appraises, supervises, disciplines and when necessary, terminates subordinate staff. • Suggests, develops, coordinates and implements division goals. • Inspects agency sites and makes recommendations on repairs and upgrades of physical plant. • Places construction work for agency sites out for bid and ensures contractors adhere to terms Contained in signed contract. • Manages agency fleet of vehicles. • Oversees contract work concerning maintenance and repair of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarms. • Ensures agency sites are in compliance with NYC Building codes, OSHA, EPA regulations, hazardous waste disposal and ensures any violations are corrected promptly. • Inspects agency facilities on a regular basis to ensure they are being properly maintained and kept clean. • Provides oversight of staff and facilities. • Develops, obtains approval of, implements and monitors division budget. • Develops, obtains approval and implements policies and procedures for division. • Prepares division projections and other relevant statistics. • Formulates and recommends long range plans for services to be offered in division and implements as authorized.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Completes special projects as requested. • Plans for division development and expansion. • Develops and implements Quality Assurance plan for division. • Takes appropriate measures including periodic area assessments and observations of practices, materials, equipment and environment and provides staff with safety training in order to ensure that his/her employees are provided with the safest and healthiest workplace possible. • Serves as a standing member of Agency-wide committees. • Keeps abreast of changes in field. • Oversees the upkeep of agency grounds and ensures staff effectively remove snow from same. • Handles personnel matters including vacations, sick leave time and attendance records, Master Change Forms, etc. • Performs necessary paperwork as requested. • Performs other related duties as requested.

COMPENSATION $55,000-$68,000 annually plus Industry Leading Benefits!

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma• At least seven years of progressively more responsible managerial experience.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

• Valid NY State Driver’s License and maintain it in good standing
